Right well now having had a very extensive play with this unit for a couple of months i'm happy to say this is a fantastic pieve of equipment.
For all those who are saying how poor it is only showing 8 characters and saying its hard to navigate through - you have access to 250GB of media, thats a *****ING lot of mp3's!?!? How else do you propose to make it easier?
As for the display - if you have a CD Text complian unit you still only 8 characters on the screen also, the scroll button is intended to reveal the characters you cant see, admittedly given MP3 filenames can be excessive this unit will display the first 24 characters for every entry (title, artist, album name etc) which is more than enough to identify tracks.
This unit does pretty much everything the IB100 Ipod interface does, but with the MAJOR added benefit of not having to spend £200+ which only gets you a 160GB Ipod, which are prone to breaking anyway.
So far i've used an 80GB SATA 2.5 HDD in a cheapo £6 enclosure and now im using a Seagate FreeAgent Go 250GB HDD, all with no problems!
