I'm pretty sure you won't be able to use that feature, however i do remember reading in the manual if you press the "List" button on your headunit you get a similar feature - has your headunit got one?
If i were you i would go to the Pioneer site and download the manual for the UB100, that'll tell you everything you can and can't do
Yes, i checked the manual for the UB100, where is an example of using this adapter with P6900IB, and the option of selecting files from the file name list.
Then i checked the P6900IB manual and the description of using the file name list is almost the same as in P9600MP manual. The only difference is that you have to press the LIST buttton on 6900 and on 9600 you have to press FUNC. The LIST button for getting to the file name list is also on the P8600MP which is almost the same as 9600 except for the double display.
So i guess i would probably get the same functionality with my unit as i would if i were using the 6900.
