i wouldt know what it uses, but the remoto also needs to have the radio or infra rd receptor on.' So could be its normal. Car should be able to start after a couple of days., just one day is to short.
When i worked on the cpc, in the garage, i had left the door open, and the only things burning where the 3 ligts of the interieur, that also draind the battery and those lights are not that high in watts (still started, but it cranked a lot lower).
