That helps narrow it down. This is really odd however since touchscreen buttons obviously work for most ppl. I'm going to pmsg you some questions about your setup and / or have CarComp work with you as he's had more experience dealing with the touchscreen options.

We're not terribly concerned with whether music continues with external apps running, the fact that you can get it to keep playing by loading external apps from the touchscreen button is actually a bug, hence the other post about someone having problems at the track end. When the gps enabled M/E comes out you'll be able to swap to gps and back w/o stopping the music.

After hibernating from the shutdownbutton (nice feature, nice to see a request option implemented) and resuming, the volume is correctly set still.
Now if we can just tackle this touchscreen volume issue. I wonder if this could be related to your touchscreen calibration. Were you using a previous version of M/E before this release? Are you able to click on objects on that side of the screen on the windows desktop?
