Regulator and shutodwn - APC
Hi,
I just picked up a PC 500 watt ups for 19$( its on sale with mail in rebates) from office depot. check edealinfo.com
My idea is if I give switched 12 volts ( 13.8 to be exact)with a 5 amp diode, I should be able to configure it that the pc stays on for some time and then the APC sw will do a graceful shut down or hybernate
This gives me the following
1) ability ot withstand a crank
2) Shut down controller
3) start up with power on
4) regulated voltage with spike suppressor
SO tell me what can go wrong ? or if I have some limitaions which I have not thought of
