At 60mph you travel approx 30 yards per second so the difference is unlikely to be more than that.
The more upmarket system have gyroscopic compasses and speedo interfaces that can dead reckon your position in the absence of a GPS signal. A few months ago we drove from Leeds to Munich in a Mercedes fitted with their satnav and a laptop running Navigator and the Haicom GPS. Not once did the two materially differ in displayed position and the only time we lost satellite lock was on the ferry!
