just to be clear, LCD screens have different Native resolutions. that is the number of physical pixels it has and if you use a resolution equal to it, you will get the clearest picture.

eg. most 17" desktop LCD panels will have natvie resolution of 1024x768. use this res and your desktop will look very sharp. any other res will be slightly off and/or grainy..

I guess what I'm asking is, what resolution do find to give you the sharpest picture? does the picture take up the entire screen and is not squished or stretched at all?
