But most non-iPods play MP3s, WAV, and some WMA. Many will not play an MP4. Though I do agree it's a better all round format. Since My MP3 player auto-syncs with whats in my media folder (on my PC and eventually my car) it makes no sense for me. Not until my 30Gb MP3 player has MP4 supporting firmware.
And if your Car Computer software uses media player for a core this will let you play .MP4
without extracting or converting to mp3

right click on a mp4 and goto property and just tell it to open in your NORMAL Media player and your Good to go.
