Quick Question About Grounds

Hey guys,
I was wondering if anyone here could answer a quick question about grounding. I am installing an XM Direct and planned to tap into the existing Pioneer to stock wiring harness for constant but could I (should I?), also tap in for the ground? I didn't know if it would be beneficial, knowing that it has a good ground already, instead of possibly introducing noise into the system. Or do you think I should just grab a ring connector and a self tapper and find a good ground with my meter?

Thanks!

- Jeff

P.S. - I did search for this answer and came up with :http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/show...existing+radio

but it doesn't really address the issue.
