Well, a lot of invertor ratings are for peak power, and not continuous power output... I didn't read the thread really close, so he MIGHT have a system that pulls that much, but I really can't picture that. Sometimes, for a system that pulls 150 watts, you would actually want to buy a 350 or 400 watt invertor, just to be safe and have some over head. Besides, it's not like it's going to use the power it's rated at unless it needs it anyway, so might as well buy as highly rated invertor that you can.
