I was just thinking about the same thing based on the picture of the guts in the other threads. I noticed the vents in front/back of these and assumed that those combined (perhaps) with the enclsoure were the 'special' noise cancelling feature.
As far as active noise canceling ... I'm not sure why you'd ever need it anyhow. Seems like the PC would be more than capable of doing this on its own.
@0l33l: You say this mic performs much better than the others in a quiet environment. How about in a noisy one like a car? In a car with the stereo blasting? With the windows down at 80mph?
