Nin^ ^Nin, My PC has a jumper on the motherboard that you can set to auto-start as soon as 240 Volts is supplied. I haven;t tried it because I like being in control on when the PC fires up. Also with the auto shutdown. My mate wrote me a small program that runs as a service. It uses the serial port to check if two wires are connected. As soon as they are no longer connected (ie you turn the acc off and the relay disengages) then it starts its shutodwn sequence. It's configurable so you can tell it to start shutdown once the acc have been off for whatever time you like. You could set it to 10 minutes. If the acc comes back on within 10 minutes then the counter gets reset. Works a treat. You can also set it to either shutdown, hibernate, standby etc... I can email the source to anyone who wants it...
