Here's what I think. I think you should keep with your alpine unit, maybe just relocate it so you can fit a screen. Get the Audigy2 soundcard, and run it thru your HU. That's my $0.02

I would do this just so you can get more control out of your stuff.

Does your Alpine HU have an aux in?
