Well, my Linksys G USB is a earlier model than yours probably.

Few things I noticed...
Did you look at the stock antenna and see what it was connected to?
The antenna has a inner conductor and a shielding to protect the signal.
Looks like you just soldered the inner wire (Gold connector) to the baord. Also the gold connector does not help soldering, if anything it makes it harder to solder to.
You need to attach the outside braid (sheilding of the antenna wire) to some ground onthe board. I would use the same antennna spots the stock antenna used.

If you didn't use the gold connector, then you wouldn't have a Mount Everest of solder on the board.
