Its plastic, yes, but the seams in the casing aren't sealed. I think you're going to run into problems due to water unless you silicone it all shut. And then you may have overheating problems.

I love the idea though.

Also, why didn't you flush the screen in? Was there an unmovable structure underneath the bezel where you cut?
