I would not recommend jumping that circuit. There was a resistor there, and it appears to be fried. By placing a jumper wire there, you may actually change the resistance in that line, and could create more problems. Of course, it could also work too. Who knows, but I doubt you will correct the problem by using a wire to bypass the original resistor.
Just my 2.6 cents worth.
