The 3 wires are propably +12 and two bus signals (Can, 485, i2c...etc) ground is taken at the chassis.

I order to interface it to the computer, it depends to the key's pcb. If there is a complex pcb with ic's on it and complex circuitry, then its propaply some kind of bus and its very difficult to interface it without converter.

I dont think its output is analog, but it is posible.

The easy way is to run seperate cable for each button to the serial and with some software do the rest (like winamp control)

My approach would be: (as an electronics maniac)
Make a simple pcb with a small microcontroller and send via rs232 commands to a VB programm to do the rest. (no extra cables.)
