I have the older GR-231 with the serial cable and haven't had much luck with it. Can't figure out how to get the unit to automatically turn on when the computer is on. I thought if it was a serial device, when power is turned on, unit would switch on.

I haven't had any issues with BT pairing. Everytime IG is opened, it automatically connects via the DLink dongle. I'm probably going to just hard wire a 12v-5v adapter so the GPS stays on all the time. Won't have to worry about acquiring a signal at least...
