@MGD, i said that earlier and linked to Dupont's news thread. The DUpont "Wedge", since ist between the two layers, is almost impossible to duplicate, so we need to find another way. We can't emulate, it stoo expenseive, so we are trying to come up with a whole new approach.
@ spaceskater. Your glass is curved? gah...mine is flat. ITs just at a horrible angle and i'll need to cut the cowle teh get in. Assuming i decide to go the guage cluster route (i'm undecided and mya just do both), i will also need to put a piece of film over it to help out with the reflection. I really don't mind that though Here's why: I'm having IGuidance and my GPS running all teh time. If the image is on, somewhere i'm going to have a little transperant box that's giving my speed, and maybe my navaigational heading. That way, if its on, if it blocks my view, it doesn't matter. I drive an A/T, so RPMS don't bug me as much as fuel level.
I'm interested to see your experimentation with the plastics and plexi. I know were' nto allowed to phave NAYTHING in the view of the driver, but i was thinking, if we can get the image to go off the plexi, we can hit this right behind the registration and insurance. I know it defeats the coolness of the project, but what cop is going to look and see that there's a strip of somthing there if you do it right?

@everyone. Like i siad, i have been deaing wiht crap so my ideas are limited and not thought out. I'm just really glad this shot from a back and forth between alti and i to a nice discussion and new thinkers with ideas for us all to try. I'm thinking of lookin into the mechanism behind day/night mirros nad seeing what we can do with that on either the gauge or the windshield.
oh, i'm waiting for quantum to come back and say something. He's been quiet lately and i don't know what he has up his sleeves. He know of something with the properties that we are looking for for pretty cheap.
