I don't know if you've figured it out yet or not... but I've done exactly what you are trying to do many times before, with both Ai-net and M-bus applications. After you cut open the Ai-net cable, (colors might vary depending how old the cable is) you should see a yellow wire, orange wire, and 2 gray cables. In the first gray cable there is a sheild, red, and white wire. These are NOT audio wires... do NOT use these for audio input. I forget what exactly these serve... I think its data. But the wires you want are in the second gray cable... the sheild being the audio ground, green is left channel, and blue is right channel (I might have the left and right backwards, but I doubt you'd notice a differnce). Once this is wired and the AUX is turned on, you should have no problem.
