You could use a pocket pc. Put it in a waterproof case. http://www.otterbox.com/products/pda_cases/1900/

They make cases for a couple tablet pc's as well. You can still use the touch screen inside the case. I have one of their older cases that I took to Oman for my old iPaq. Kept the dust and crap out of it.
