Yeah, I knew that the 20's didn't have native UMS support (and btw, they won't) so I was curious on why iRiver decided to force that attribute.
silly point to note... are you up on the inards of the H10's? I was one of 5 guys that wrote that core firmware. I designed/wrote the database engine and did a lot of the string conversion routines. iRiver did the UI, but we (PortalPlayer) did the all the underlying fun.
This is why it's strange to hear that they tweaked the handling of that directory flag - they didn't make that change on the 5/6's.
I was also one of 4 people that worked on the DRM software which is in the MTP version. That's something that I'm not that proud of though.
