you have a good point about the aluminum - I used steel. I figured a case fan pulling air from the front would do it... but I'm not sure now. The system not booting-up or running would only be a sign it might be too late.

According to VIA, the M10000 should not operating above 50C (122F). See www.via.com spec sheet for details. This is insanely low to try and maintain in a car! I started using MBM5 and found to typically is at 70C (158F) and can hit temps as high as 82C (180F).

It would be good to know if aluminum really makes that much of a difference... would you be interested in trying the same MotherBoard Monitor software and posting your temps?
