If you get a virus warning, turn off Advanced Heuristics in your AV program.
Search the RoadRunner forum for "RoadRunner Virus" if you need more info.
A note on version dates.
The Installer/Updater have 12/13/2007 as the version date because that is the last modified date/time of the RoadRunner executable. I use the last modified date for the installer/updater as it won't change like lastaccessed/lastcreated when dealing with the webservers, Windows, etc. This will hold true for all future versions as well.
See here for illustration. The file details used are what I have for the executable from the RoadRunnerBinary.zip (even though the link "title" on his site has another date). Maybe that's the best way to put it... My installer and updater only work with the latest RoadRunnerBinary.zip available from
Guino's Site.
Since the RoadRunner installer and updater haven't been taken care of in a while I spoke with Guino about it, and after getting the go-ahead, I made a new installer and new updater for RoadRunner.

THE INSTALLER: (Updated as of: 14 March 2008)
The installer will be updated with each new binary and released. The installer comes prepackaged with the latest version and the BMV2 skin. The weather icons are also now in the correct location. CDRIP is also included and the DLLs are registered during the installation process. This is for NEW installations. If you are using on a system that already has Road Runner installed, ensure you backup your old files first (i.e. ExecTBL.ini and KeyTBL.ini). The new updater is also included with this package.

THE UPDATER: (Updated as of: 08 March 2008)
The updater which comes prepackaged with the installer is also available for download by itself. It will pull the RR installation location from the registry, or ask you for the installation location. If it doesn't find your installation location in the registry and asks you for the location, once you point the updater at the installation location, the updater will now store that in the registry for future usage.
It then compares the dates of your installation and the latest release and if your version is older, it downloads and installs the latest version. It WILL NOT overwrite your ExecTBL.ini and KeyTbl.ini files.
ENSURE!!! that you place/extract this in your RR folder. The updater ncludes the check for RR.exe and RoadRunner.exe. When updating, if the new version has "RoadRunner.exe" the "RR.exe" file will be delete, so that you will be running the newer version. When updating, make sure your scripts/shortcuts and all else reflect this change.

(for those who have downloaded the installation package already, this is an updated RR_Updater, so please download this and extract it in your RR installation folder. It adds a default installation folder selection dialog for those who don't have the RR installation key in their registry. Should fix the errors encountered by the non-english setups as mentioned below and it WILL NOT overwrite your ExecTBL.ini and KeyTBL.ini files).
If your updater isn't extracting the new version, drop ( 7za.exe ) a file extractor into your Road Runner folder and then re-run the Updater (
this file is included with the updater package).
NOTE: There is now only ONE version, it is has a larger GUI so it's useful for both normal and touchscreen monitor usage. This is a rewrite of the program, so please let me know if you encounter any issues.
