I don't know if you guys use the same programs I do. I have several programs that won't close right away when close them. The OBD-II program that I use logs the data. When I close the program it'll ask if I want to save the logged data. There's no configuration to set it so that it doesn't log the data but only to display the data. Street Atlas 2003/Plus always ask if I want to save current map. Copilot2K3 has errors when I close it. I have to hit OK for it to end. I use all of those programs all the time. When I turn off the car, Opus sends the shut down signal to the power button header. The programs would not close. Then, a warning window pops up and says program not responding would you like to close it or some crap like that. That's what's keeping WinXP from shutting down. If I just leave it, Opus would supply power to the mobo for the 2-3 minutes then kills the power completely. WinXP never has the chance to go through the shut down sequence. It would be like you have the computer running and unplug the PSU. Sofar I couldnt find any settings to overcome all these.
bosstone74, YES, the Opus is the bomb but my info is unbias toward any DC PSU. It's just information that you should think about before deciding on a PSU.
Skraggy, you're right most DC PSU are made for racks, med use, or indoor use. They all require power that doesn't flexuate greatly like a car invironment.
Basically my biggest complaint is I cant get my programs to close completely when the PC is going through the shut down sequence.
