While we are bringing up old threads, I would like to say that I recently replaced my FM modulator with a SoundGate AUX-NISS adapter (2 AUX inputs that look like a CD changer to my factory HU) and the sound quality is wonderful. Before I always had noise on the line, and now I can pause the music, turn the volume up all the way and there is ZERO noise, I am so happy. I also had some clipping before that was very noticeable on some bass heavy songs, and that is gone now too.
I have never had any hibernating issues with it, and not having to run power for it (it is USB bus powered) makes the install that much easier.
