If i'm following you correctly, right idea, wrong technology. EXCELLENT find though. This company specialized in IR motion tracking in 3D space. This is good as a HUD touchscreen replacement. Its Minority Report realized. See, its IR based, making it good to make...well..a "driving glove" with a shiny dot on a finger tip. Actually, the better model suited is here
http://www.naturalpoint.com/smartnav..._overview.html
Using a finger and "dwell" you can select whatever you want. I guess i can finally ebay my P5... Now i know what i want for Christmas

And yes, this would be VERY dangerous to use when driving. If you have the dot on your head, turning around could be dangerous. Using the finger is better, but still, unless you're highway driving, i woudlnt' recoomend it.

Once again, an excellent find.

To all others, sorry for being so silent. I'm putting the project on hold for anSBC i recently got. See, if i do this right, i can project an image form a 12.1" laptop screen, provided it has an LVDS connection. Also, it will then give me on board triple monitor display with another 2x VGA. Sure, its 2-8MB, but honestly, all i need it for is DVD movies in the car, right? I'm also trying to get my hands on a 4 montior PCI video card. LOL...don't ask me what i plan to do with that.

If anyone has an LVDS monitor that they want to sell with the inverter and such, please let me know. I will be posting a WTB ad once i get the SBC itself up and working. Al;so, if anyone can give me real time help with this SBC/LVDS (never did it before, need someone to hold my hand) that would be cool too! Yes, i am already in contact with motorcity
