Hoping somebody here will help
I know this is an advanced, technical board here, but I really don't know who to ask my basic questions. I stumbled onto this forum last night, having never heard of RR, or "carputers", and the more I read, the more rivited I became. I have no idea what it takes to set up a mobile computer to do these things.
I have a PC that I use when I travel in a motorhome, use CoPilot and a GPS puck for nav, have XM Radio (tuner) for road tunes, and VMSpc interfaced to the pc, for diesel engine data. I also have a Cingular G3 aircard for internet access while on the road. I have been thinking about buying some kind of touchscreen (lilliput?), for CoPilot, and have it dash-mounted, leaving the computer tucked away.
From what I'm reading, Chuck has created amazing capabilities to control/display all these things, and even a hard-drive 'jukebox', with a "skin"(?), and have it all right there in front of you, on a touchscreen.
So how do I get started? What do I need? Will any pc work, and then buy or download the skin? Where? How does it work with XM Radio? Can anybody explain this system to me. Your help would be greatly appreciated.
