nothing is happening because we don't know how to join the project. If someone can tell me how to join that would be great otherwise I'm going to just start making my own changes

From https://sourceforge.net/docman/displ...=1#projectjoin

"How do I join an existing project? »
To locate an existing project which would be of interest to you, consider making use of the search feature of the SourceForge.net site, the Software Map, and the Project Help Wanted page (where projects who are looking for help may post "help wanted" messages; accessible using the 'Project Help Wanted' link in the left navbar of the SourceForge.net site). Once you have determined which project you wish to join:

Go to the project page for the project in question and examine the information they provide there, particularly:

1. Mailing Lists
2. Discussion Forums
3. Project Home Page
4. Project Help Wanted (Job postings), which will be shown in bold on the project summary page if present

One of the above may list information useful for joining the project. If the project has not provided specific information about joining their team, please contact the project administrator(s) for the project (shown in the upper right-hand corner of the Project Summary page) directly and volunteer your services."

If anyone would like to join the project, just provide me with your username on soureforge. This is your unix user name. I will add you.

Once you are added to the project, you can assign bugs or features to yourself or others.

The best way to contact me is via IM using the links in my profile. In addition, I will try to rededicate myself to being in the IRC room. Please stop by. If we can keep a group of people on standby there it would help.

Hi guys,

Also keen to get to work on this. Is there anyone else out there who is having trouble getting the source to compile nicely under Xcode?

Any walkthroughs would be good.

Cheers

So where are we on this project currently. I got my new laptop and also now have more time available but it doesn't look like much progress has been made. Is the Amp1 code being used? and also what is happening with the sourceforge project? Just looking for an update I guess

Hello?

So have we figured out the joining process? Is this thing going anywere at all? Or is this being tossed in with every other front end and not being finished?

I swear Mac users are gaining a reputation of being lazy around here... They've got plenty of front ends on the Windows side, and we've had more proposed ones than can be easily counted...

Sigh... I think it's Parallels and an Intel Mac for me...

Maby the problem is that we try so hard to tackle everything at once. usually projects fail when the original developer gets overwhelmed and opens it to the public. Then everyone swarms with tons of ideas and most of them are out of reach and there are only a limited number of programmers. What is so bad about amp1? What features really need to be developed to make it "complete"? Truthfully I think its a solid program and it doesnt need all this crazy GPS and ODBII stuff athough it is cool and usefull. If all AMP needs is automatic itunes updates and a night feature thats not too dificlut. Basically what I am saying is lets just finish something! what do I need to do to make people happy with AMP1? THIS IS NOT A FEATURE REQUEST its more like asking what the state of AMP1 is and what needs to done to make it acceptable.

Automatic Update

I think that AMP is great the way it is, I use it daily. The only thing that I can see that needs to be changed is just like you stated it needs an automatic update of the itunes database. That is hte only thing that this program needs at the momment.

As far as I know you need to download the source files and build them with the the OSX developer tools. Don't think there is an install around anywhere, I might be wrong though.... If you can't find the source let me know I have and could email it, but it is kinda big.
