I would suggest another thread for a wishlist discussion. This thread really should be about the current development as well as discussion about finding/fixing bugs.
Another thread would let us banter around all kinds of crazy ideas without it being confused with actual (current or planned). Then for the people that are only looking for updates or have an issue to report, there is a much cleaner thread to follow.

That's actually a great idea. I just started a thread for that purpose. I guess keep this thread for bug reports, current releases, etc?

Bobby,
Check your email. You should have a solution for the Album Art problem we have been discussing. Let me know if you don't get it.
About time test code I wrote months ago comes in handy

Hey guys
Just a quick update on what's going on w/ AMP. I've been working on a "utility" module for it. Including.. Importing files (pictures, movies, music), updating your version of AMP, and some other disk utilities. The new version of AMP has the much improved random code, and I've dropped the ****ty implementation for plugin support and have started using the DistributedNotificationCenter.
re: the updating your version of AMP, and file importing, etc. This is for when you have a removable volume (flash drive, USB drive, CDROM, etc) with songs on it, or with a new version of AMP on it. Basically, you'll just point the importer towards the new files, or the new version of AMP, and it will take care of copying it over and shutting down the old version of AMP and all that jazz for you. This should make upgrading the version of AMP in your car (COUGH COUGH dave! hahaha) easy & painless, and the same for importing files.. You want to add pictures? Just stick in a jump drive with the pictures, and tell AMP which photo album to put them in, or make a new photo album for AMP to put them in.
Also, I'll update the example plugin to show how to use the new notification center (of course, this means all plugins should be developed in Cocoa/ObjC [which you should be doing anyway] ... not that anyone is lining up to make a plugin -- LOL).
Oh, a couple of nights ago I was drinking some crown & diet coke and working on AMP's iTunes XML importer.. I was always bothered by the fact that it wouldn't import a lot of song's art, and that it was really slow. I figured out a way to improve it's ability to import art, and it does it a *whole* lot faster now.
(Although, it still wont get the art for some songs, and I don't know why. I've tried molesting the hell out of the songs in every way that I can, even converting them out of mp3 format and back to it, and I just can't get it. It's some odd Beatles outtakes.. not sure why AMP wont grab their art)
Also importing playlists is infinitely faster now (literally from like 5-10 minutes to 5 seconds) (the only caveat is don't put any videos in your playlists! - by simply not having to check if it's a video, it saves sooo much time -- just listen to this one rule!)

LOL - I'll never forget the night I fell asleep coding, and woke up and the entire movie slider thing was done.

Aychamo,
Do you have a screenshot of using AMP's built in playlist editor and stuff? I just wanted to make sure the ability to set up playlists and such was in there, I didn't remember seeing a screenshot of it from this thread.
Thanks

You know, while I am not a fan of macs, I do find that mac users (and front end creators) like to keep things much cleaner and simpler than PC front ends. If I had a mac this is a very nice looking front-end.

What's the risk? Get the Intel Mini and run OSX. Don't like it? Reboot and run Windows! Best of both worlds.
Unless, of course, you've already purchased your car PC.

The Screen does not look warped or crappy what so ever. Hope this helps to get the program to run native at 800x600.
I certainly don't want to offend, but to me the screen does look warped and crappy. Circles appear to be ovals and squares appear to be rectangles. Everything appears to be short and fat. Definitely not the way it is intended to look. IMHO, 800x600 on a 800x480 screen is not the way to go.

Btw, macinsuck, you really should be able to get your mac to output 800x480 with DisplayConfigX.
