Hmm, if you did that, then you sent me the wrong version of the code this morning
Let me know what you think about the updates I sent. If you are ok with them, i'll get them up somewhere until you can get back to the code again.
BTW - The best part I like of the new version (admitably I haven't played too much yet) is the icon. That just gives it a "finished" feel, and it looks good to.
Thanks,
-dave

Is it possible to list the songs of the playlist once that list is selected and also would it be possible to make an on-the-go playlist option?

One other thing, I miss the button for Finder that there was in previous versions. Now in order to do something I have to exit Amp and then restart it after I'm done doing whatever it is I needed to do. I like being able to have Amp continue to run while I was working on something else. Also, whats the latest on the 800x600 issue. Thanks again for your work.

I have seen a few requests for features here (sorry to pick you out). Please make feature requests in the Wishlist thread. This thread should be for release info and bug reports.
Thanks,

I'll have to look again, but I thought the option was moved to the "shutdown" screen. I know the icon was gone, but I could swear the functionality was still there.
Damn. How is it AMP compiles faster on my G4 PB that on my G5 (it is only a single proc, but still....)
Not sure what I was thinking about, it is indeed gone. I'll try to add it back tonight when I play with the code some more (Sorry Bobby, means more NIB changes ).

Here is the first version with my code in it. Nothing major: - The clock uses your Systems Preferences setting for how to display your clock.
- Shrunk the "Now Playing" (with controls) so that it just covers the list area.
- Added a config option to not display the popup "Now Playing" option when the song changes.
- Some other minor behind the scenes stuff.
The format of the clock now uses the information from the International pane of System Preferences. This is the basis of the Menu Bar Clock as well (though the AM/PM, day of week, and seconds are controlled in the Clock pane for the Menu Bar). In my testing I can get "MM/DD HH:MM:SS" to show up in all the clocks without getting cut off (add "/YY to the date lops off the seconds).
Here is a MacOSXHints article that gives a good explanation of how to configure the clock.
Enjoy,
-dave

Here is a screen shot of the reduced now playing window. You can also see the new clock (my PB uses MM/DD/YY HH:MM:SS, but you should get the idea ).

Hey Dave!
The changes look great, and thank you for doing them!
Just a note to everyone else: The version Dave uploaded *is* the latest version of AMP, and is the same codebase that all future changes will be made to! So go ahead and DL it! Don't forget once you DL it, you can use AMP's upgrade tool (from the Utilities menu) to upgrade your copy of AMP.

Anyone noticed any crashes while playing from a playlist (maybe happens in other places, not sure)? I had it crash on me 3 times today when it when to change tracks (where I told it to go to the next track, not because of the end of a song). The first two times I was in random mode so thought it might be at the end of the list, but that wasn't the case for the 3rd time. All three times the last song was different, not sure about the next (i.e. the one it is trying to switch to) song though.
I'll try debugging it tonight, but if anyone else has seen this and has any more details (like how many tracks had been played/skipped ,etc..) please let me know as that might help me track it down a bit easier.
Thanks,
-dave

i tested it out for like 30 min letting songs play for a while and switching them really fast but I didnt have any problems. Maybe "Smart" iTunes Playlists make it mess up, I dunno just throwing up and idea.

Yeah I just got to test it on my laptop (copied my Mini's iTunes library over and imported it) and didn't have any issues (well, the first time I imported it all the iTMS album art was on the wrong songs but ripped music with art was correct ).
Maybe the AMP db is hosed up on my Mini. I'll nuke it and re-import and see if that fixes it.

Personal update: Final 1 of 5 completed. lol... And I ******* rocked it!
As soon as I get done with this "school ****" this semester.. I have planned the following additions:
1. Finish the plug-in manager.. Since I don't forsee a lot of people making plugins, it will also double as an App launcher, to launch whatever other crap you want, and
2. The graphical file->open dialog box, like LightningMac asked about.
ooh.. and I just bought a little Pomeranian.. lol I pick him up in 10 days..
