I have a question (or perhaps a suggestion). Is it possible to select between a map view and the Satellite view?
On another note. St. Maarten eh? My wife and I were just out there on a cruise back in late July. Talk about a nice place (at least for someone who loves the ocean).

I don't think GE allows you to specifically set a map-only view. I know there are map overlays (roads, etc) for their satellite photos, buut I don't think it allows exclusively the viewing of maps.
Just a note, AMP will have the "native" support for GE, in terms of also acting like a GPS2GE program to generate the KML file for GE to use, but as far as launching the actual GPS program, the program that launches is configurable (so you can run whatever software you want, with the same little "tool" windows you see in the screenshot above.) The other programs (Route66, RouteBuddy, etc) wont need the KML as GE does, but it wont hurt the other program in anyway (in fact, it wont even generate the KML file if you aren't using GE.)
So.. It will support really any GPS program.
... Yes, St. Maarten Yall docked in Phillipsburg, right? And you walked along all the shops. I love all the "fakes" there. My parents bought a whole set of knock-off Loius Viuton (sp?) luggage for under $100! St. Maarten is an OK place. I think it's like anywhere, it's great for a few weeks, but after living here over a year, it starts to get old. The same few restaurants, the same people, the same everything. But I tend to like remote, isolated places. After I get done with clinicals, I'm thinking of heading up to Canada's North West Territories or the Yukon to do a few years out there in the cold, isolated tundra. After that I'd like to spend some time in 3rd world countries that really actually appreciate and need physicians and medical care. ... I think I'm the weirdest person alive, lol.

sup guys...first off I'm running a PPC Mac Mini and
I'm still having issues with the movie importing...
Here's the thing I have over 600 Music Videos which are there and I can;t find a way to have them imported correctly...
First I assumed that AMP should pick them up automatically inside the Movies folder, but it didnt then I imported then I tried both ways to import and I still have not successfully had my complete video playlist looking fine, at some point I've had it double like I mentioned earlier...I did also notice that every single time I impot it gets stuck on SAVING(at the end of importing) and won't stop, maybe it's a bug.
What are the correct steps to importing video?
Just a quick suggestions that would be nice...if possible
I wondered if this is possible, can you have the movies navigate like the songs,in other words forward and back instead of stop and choosing another? Can you make it remember where you left off last time, not the actual video but the file in the playlist?
Keep up the AMAZING WORK! Your very talented and thanks for taking your precious time towards helping out this small mac automotive community!

Bummer. As my luck would have it, many of the images around where I live are really poor quality. Those that are good resolution are at least 5 years old. For that matter, even my TomTom software doesn't show my street even though it's been there since at least 2001 when my house was built.

That's cool. Is it possible launch more than one app like say GE and Roadnav and flip between them? I know that gpsd can support multiple programs at once.
I also came up with another suggestion in regards to navigation within AMP itself. Perhaps you could have a "Home" button that zips you back to the main screen. This would alleviate have to back all the up before going to another function. You might also look at adding a drop down menu giving you 2 click (touch) access to Music, Videos, Apps etc. from anywhere in the program.
One other thought (yes I'm full of them tonight and probably should be posting these to the Wishlist). Have you given any thought to adding a fifth icon to the front screen? This will give you one more function that has quick access (like Nav or Radio/XM/Sirius).

Hehe. We didn't spend much time on St. Maarten but went swimming with dolphins on one of the other islands. About the only shopping we did was to buy 4 liters of rum. Now St. Thomas on the other hand......

Where do you usually access your music videos from? Your ~/Movies or from iTunes?

This is actually in my current developer version. It will be in the next release. In most any screen, with this new feature (QuickMenu), you tap the upper-right corner of the screen, and it brings up a small menu allowing you to quickly jump to the music, movies, photos, config, etc.

Ahh, Anguilla is with the dolphins. I went there a couple of semesters ago for a few days... It is so damn beautiful We would be driving and see some beaches and just slam on the brakes and just stare at them!

Actually they work fine via frontrow... I have not purchased them from itunes donwloaded from external sources...they're inside the movies folder...
The other issue with the saving process getting stuck I'm really assuming that is been caused because of the amount of files inside the folder...
BTW been to St. Maarten and love Maho Beach... do you live in the french side or the deutch?

When you import movies, that are in your ~/Movies folder, AMP erases all the current entires, then rescans that directory for files and adds them in. Do you have all your videos in the root ~/Movies folder, or are they in sub-folders?
AMP should never freeze or halt on saving the database, just give it a while, especially if you have a large music database, as all of the media information (music, photos, movies) is kept in a single database.
Re: St Maarten - I live on the dutch side, just close to the french side. By Maho Beach, are you talking about the famous one with the airplanes? Yeah, we go on some afternoons to that Sunset Beach Bar and get some beers and watch the planes land. It's a beautiful place!
