Ah! I see. Obviously, gpsdX would only report status and position, it is up to you to make sense of it.

lol

I want to make sure the GPS stuff works well before I release it. It always works fine in my apartment, but the other night we grabbed a ton of beer and circled the island a few times at night, and I brought the computer and the GPS, and it would work, but it seemed that sometimes the GPS would "lose" the satellite and it would go back to lat 0, lon 0. Then it would pick back up and go to the right place. It was annoying as hell. But.. We were in a bumpy car, and I was drunk, so I couldn't really look for the problem. I think the GPS kept coming out of my USB port. I need to add a thing to see how many satellites I'm picking up. Question: Everywhere in the world should get enough satellites right??

well for the most part yes. Some GPS satellites will actually "hover" over an aria (i.e. be in a synchronous orbit). So there might actually be more satellites over the US than any other country... maybe. However the military uses GPS all over the place.. i mean EVERYWHERE lol. So it's a pretty well-rounded system...

Edit: keep up the awesome work!! Can't wait to make my carputer system so i can use this for real lol.

I saw where you might be going to 800x600. I would like to be able to keep 800x480. I put a thread under "Help me out of XENARC hell...please" describing how I got 800x480 working with my Mac Mini and Xenarc 700TSV.

Keep up the good work. I like it so far and will be using it for my setup.
