Another little update..

I changed the clock up a little to make it "fit-in" a bit more. The "now playing" info in the bottom-left shows whatever song is currently playing, and updates as it goes through playlists, etc.

The album art up top (with the Apple-style reflection which took me all day to get right) displays when you enter an Album. So if you go to Beatles, the select "Abbey Road" it will show that art while you look at the songs in that album. I'm going to have it draw the album name and artist under the picture too, I'm just too lazy tonight

Anyways, just wanted to re-assure you things are moving along, and that I havent quit or anything.

always looking good aychamo, every detail counts, even the diagonal lines in the background make it look 100% better

Okay, I'm new and I'm trying to follow the AMP log here.

My only suggestion, because I didn't see anything like it, is maybe a custom program launcher. This would help for those who might want to launch their GPS program, etc.

So does anyone know how to get maps for this GPS utility once it comes out? I'm guessing that routing and turn by turn navigation is going to be the hardest thing since positions seems to be fairly well taken care of with gpsd, so I'm just wondering where will we be getting maps from and how will turn by turn navigation work? is there any free tools that provide this or maybe some mapquest or google maps tool?

Goto "plugins" from the Config menu. It lets you edit and add applications to launch from there.

I tried amp for the first time tonight, and Im really impressed, its superb!..

A couple of questions though.. I downloaded the program from the link on the first page of this thread/work log, and its quite different from the screen-shots on this/the last page.. Is there a newer version to download?..

Second thing (the answer to the first question might answer the second ) would it be possible to make it mouse and keyboard control?.. Im planning on using a griffin powermate controller and no touch-screen (I know most of you guys use touch screen) so it would be cool to be able to navigate up/down and around all the menu's using arrow keys (up/down/left/right) and say enter and escape for click and back.. Obviously the back function can be done from the existing menu anyway, but might be a cool "shortcut"

I dont know how this was programmed/written or how its done in terms of control, so I might be asking the impossible, but thought Id ask just incase its a simple thing to add in, or if its already there and Im missing something

oh speaking of mouse/keyboard controll, does anyone knows of a good on-screen keyboard for Mac? I found one but it's $60, which is more money than a real keyboard .

Can something like that be integrated with AMP? so that you can do searches and what not?

Read This thread. It's not a full solution, but it does get your Mac using moving map, turn by turn, and directions. The requirement for net connectivity is a pain, but you don't need it while you're driving, just for setup.
