10.4.8 works fine with AMP on my computer never had any problems with it.

A small news update...Aychamo has given me a screen shot of the new program. Now, I know what you are thinking...WTF why is Jessica Alba in the background well lemme explain. Aychamo's original purpose of this program was to have it just for him(like hardcoding where his music/movies are) but after a while it got out of control and now has options for everyones preferences. Well in v2 he said that he wants to go back to his roots and plans for the original program so he has hardcoded in all the preferences and background for his liking only. There will be no way of changing any of this and he plans on updating the picture every version just so he can keep it fresh. I dunno anyway, heres the pic.

Yeah I can imagine being in the car doing that:

Passenger "dude you must love this song you keep hitting the screen to play it again"

Driver "Naw dude, I'm just in love with Jessica Alba, and I'm copping a feel!"

Jake, do you still have the real screenshots I sent you last night? If so, do you mind posting them?

The Now Playing menu is a vast improvement. I couldn't read the last version.

I presume this is the version that will also allow you to see GPS through a transparent overlay? If so, that would be a great improvement as well.

Hello to the forum.

I have had a Mac Carputer in my ML for about 18 months. This is not a professional install by any means - more of a touchscreen up front, with a trackpad, GPS and other bits and pieces elsewhere around the car. It was running a frontrow hack and was controlled from my SE K800i - this made the touchscreen almost redundant. GPS was by Route66 - being in the UK and a Mac user then this was the only real option.

The "computer" part is a Powerbook G4 1.5 Alu that is stored behind the rear seats and powered from an inverter. This enables me to run from battery whenever the ignition is switched off for a short period. It is held in a custom mount that gives me easy access to the ports and isolates the powerbook from bumps/shocks etc. and allows me to install and remove it from the car within seconds.

I discovered AMP about 3 days ago and installed it just out of curiosity. All the thoughts that I have had on improving my system, but not the skills to implement them, are covered with AMP. The touchscreen is back in use (much safer than a trackpad) and can be equally well controlled from the passenger seat (read Wife). It almost completely satisfies my in-car needs - except for the GPS part - I even trawled through the full 49 pages contained in this thread!!!.

Anyway - no point to this post other that to extend my appreciation to aychamo for this excellent front end. I look forward to version 2.....

No lukc getting it working. It does not access itunes or my movies. I did the import thing from the options menu to no avail.

When I go into music and I hit album, I do see my first album listed over and over but I can;t click on anything or see artwork.

did you make sure that you choose the correct location to import your itunes library from?

should be something like this:

~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music Library.xml

Hmm, I just selected the root directory first and it churned around for a few minutes running through all the songs.

I tried importing the XML based on your suggestion but that just displayed "adding media" for a split second and quit. Still nothing on the music screen. When I hit the artists button it gets a black background, same as any other button except back.
