play ipod music before internal hd music

In response to the quotes below, I think the latest version of iTunes will play the ipod first if it is plugged in, at least thats what it seems to do on my MBP in the house. Can anyone else confirm this? I think this may become my primary way for playing music.

I also found this link where someone reverse engineered the itunesdb file (http://homepage.ntlworld.com/simon.m...unes_spec.htm).

Hope this helps.

I'm having trouble getting Amp to import my iTunes library. It consistently crashes about half-way through my library. This is with or without iTunes running prior to starting Amp. I've trashed the prefs and started again with the same result.

My library is rather large (about 70 gigs).

Any ideas?

edit: OS X 10.4.2; iTunes 7.0.2

Normally you'd send the person an email or private message for things like this but them again, what do i know.

^ FYI, that comment was for Elton Sawyer, aka fxmaster.

Honestly, what do you think you can do for Bobby that he can't do for himself? I'd be very skeptical of any "bu$$iness" offers solicited on a new software project.

Are there known issues with AMP on PPC hardware or are there any general instability issues with AMP? Im running 10.4.8.

Cheers,

Solved it! I thought that the iBook i butchered up for this mission was an iBook G4 but as it turns out is acutally is a G3.

After fetching the source and rebuilding with code generated for G3 instead of G4 AMP (or Kindling) seems as stable as can be.

btw was with "kindling"? Like what is the reasoning behind it, where it came from? To be honest I don't think it conveys what this awesome app can do. I duno, I can't really think of a better name so I guess I should not be complaining...

Well, AMP was always named by accident. If you remember, I started AMP just to get a bit of code out there for MacUsers to use for interfacing iTunes and CoreData. I needed a name for the project and just said "AMP" as an acronym for "Aychamo's Media Player." I guess it kinda stuck!

Kindling meant a bit to me. I really like words that have multiple meanings. Kindling can be the embers that help start a fire. Medically, it refers to the phenomenom in which a repeated stimulus doesn't need to be as intense to cause a seizure, etc. Also, it's the name of a really great song that I was into at the time. It also represents where I'm at in my life right now, at the start of a (hopefully!) long career.

I dunno. A rose by any other name is still a rose, right?
