I think AMP is more recoginized by the community as short for Amplifier(to make larger or greater (as in amount, importance, or intensity) . Like a car amplifier that takes a small signal and makes it more intense, you are taking something small and making it worthwhile and amazing! I guess kindling is cool b/c is kinda has a background story and something more to tell.

Kindling meant a bit to me. I really like words that have multiple meanings. Kindling can be the embers that help start a fire. Medically, it refers to the phenomenom in which a repeated stimulus doesn't need to be as intense to cause a seizure, etc. Also, it's the name of a really great song that I was into at the time. It also represents where I'm at in my life right now, at the start of a (hopefully!) long career.
I dunno. A rose by any other name is still a rose, right?
Haha well thats cool. I can totally understand. You should put that on Kindling's website (when it's up) in like an about section or something so other people can understand ....
edit: HAHA wow I totally just had a thought... you should give it a sub-phrase like "Kindling, the mac car app that started a fire(! or . depending on the tone you want)" . Totally corny but I kind think its awesome :P hahahaha.

i like it jakob, very "this is an osx application" type of feel to the website. well done on the dock magnification in flash.
i know the site isn't live and is still in development, but were you going to add anymore features to that list, or are those the 4 features that are planned for the first release?
once again, good job.

well the site will not be updated at that address for a few weeks, I am a part of BPA(business professionals of america) at my high school and I entered the site in the Web Devlopment portion of the contest. Last year I won 5th in state and this year I hope to go to nationals. Anyway..
There are going to be more features, I just had to get it 1/2 way together by this last sunday to send it in and I am not allowed to change it till after regionals, then I have like 2 weeks to apply my changes.
The original site was chock full of scriptaculous effects but there was no way I couldve had it fully ready by last sunday. Anyway, soon after the site or maybe even before the site launches, all the content will fade in/out whenever you click a link to try and emulate Kindling as closely as possible.
I am sure Aychamo will implement the plug-ins into the new app so there will be community members adding different things and I will add features as needed but this is just what I have now. A lot of the text is wrong like where I say that it will be under the GPL Liscense and Open Source...thats wrong. It will be a closed program and only plug-ins will be able to be developed for it.
I will look into what I can do about the Kindling text on the banner at the top.
Any browser problems? Ive tried to test it on just about every OS/Browser combination I could just wondering what everyone had to say about it and what to add/take away.
Also the wishlist page will be much different I didnt have time to finish it the way I wanted to I just put a link to the wishlst sub-forum on the forums.

Hey I like the part on the page where the highlight (mouseover) bar looks like the selection bar in Kindling Dynamite!

Actually the ones listed there are old too :-) It really looks good! (of course, I'm biased)

Great website, and great name using Kindling.
I have one question though. I thought you said in the other thread that version 2.0 would be closed source and not free, but the website says it's GPL? Has this not been updated to reflect 2.0 being closed source?

The next version I upload should been full-screen capable, able to run on the 800x480 screens! It looks pretty neat now when you run it, and it gives a feel how it will be in the car.
The next version will have a few cosmetic changes, and better support for the nicer visuals. I think since the visuals relate so much to personal taste I'll make a way for you (in the config menu) to turn some visuals on/off, so that you never have to see the ones you don't like.
Oh, and since running it in full-screen, I finally added the shutdown menu (sleep, shutdown, restart, log out, exit AMP)
Also last night I figured out a really neat way to do the OSK, so I'll have to get some work in on that. Probably wont be until after tuesday (1 week -- I have three tests coming up). So I'll get this full screen version cleaned up and uploaded maybe today or tomorrow. Just so you can see what it looks like, etc
- Gotto go!
Aychamo
Large!!! beautiful job. Finally monitor lilliput 7"has arrived me
macmini intel and touch-screen and has installed AMP 1.4b. Well!!! If
I can make 2 observations you: The resolution macmini the chip ax to
800x600, 60hz and therefore 1/5 advanced is black. In configuration
colors if you want to vary R.G.B. is not possible, in some cases comes
all 0. I can have others release? Thanks to you that you exist.
