I think the web browser looks great!
I was wondering, since there is so little for GPS for macs, is it possible to lunch a virtual pc window enbedded in this app?

I'd change the buttons 1-4 to round and loose the blue color, use the same colors as the other page... Just my 2 cents...

I got my laptop back!!!! so the first thing that I did was download your software. I congratulate you on the finest mac front end that I have seen. Looks clean, works great, has some bugs but thats understandable.
Things that I noticed.
1) you can not skip the song unlesss it is playing
2) the radio button dosnt work, not sure if it is supposed to.
3) and yes lets make the visualizaitons work wth the music, they are pretty but they need to bump with my car. lol
yeah for it working.

- For the visualization (that you accces by clicking on the album art) where it has the CD and looks really elegant, i've got the background of that now bumping with the music, looks pretty nice. One of the visualizations under the "Visuals" button with the particle effects also is in sync with music (these aren't in the current downloadable versioin)
I also reworked one of them to make it a bit more simple. And I made another one that is extremely simple, but I think it may look really nice @ nighttime, when you are driving. I want to remove some of the more stupid visuualizations.
This is the one for night time, it's just the Apple logo, but it pulsates (in the same manner as the light on apple laptops:

dangit
this is the pulsating apple
this one just rotates the cd in 3 d's, and the background moves, it looks really nice, simple.
This is the spinning CD. It's pretty cool as it renders the artist & album along the spine of the case, and it rotates slowly in three dimensions. And the background moves nicely, it's really pleasent. It's not fast and twitchy, just slow and soothing. I actually like these two I've posted here the most. And that sparkle one under "Visuals"
NEED INPUT!
(btw - great new CD by muse!)

Oh, and in the current release there may be a bit of choppiness in the visuals. I had a problem with it today and found where I was pumping 4 times as much data into the visuals every half second than they needed Oops
I hope that by the time I get my xenarc (early july, I live on a tiny island) I can have most every bug ironed out and we can have a nice liittle front end on our hands!

aychamo, quick question. and this may have been answered, i didn't remember seeing it though. will your front end work with the remote that the new mac mini's come with? i have a griffin powermate that i'll be using too, but the remote for demo'ing outside the car would be useful. i'm highly contemplating going full osx for my next version of my carpc. your front end seems to be the best available. congrats on the hard work and great interaction with the community.

ooooOOOOOoooo i like the looks a lot ! I think the buttons need to be bigger and the drag bar on the right side needs to be fatter for use with a finger on a touchscreen. Also, some kind of on screen keyboard needs to be added for typing in web addresses. I think there should be some kind of drop-down menu for all the bookmarks, but remember that this is a touchscreen environment and everything needs to be bigger than normal (but not f-ing huge ok! )
Edit: Also put the "back" button on the left side... it just feels more normal and would match everything else in AMP.

At this point, no it doesn't. I'm developing this on my PowerBook G4, so I don't really have access to the remote or anything. I'm going to put keyboard commands for everything in AMP though, and I'm pretty sure there is software out there that can detect the Apple remote and send the appropriate keyboard command. So that should be "implementable!"
I'll look around for some info on receiving the Apple remote input and see what I can come up with. Stuff like that is just really difficult to add right now because I have zero methods to bug test it.

It does seem like a good idea! I need to go ahead and order a Powermate so I can test that with AMP. I think it'd be a great way to scroll through the songs, etc. I heard there isn't Intel drivers for the Powermate yet though, (but I'm sure they will support it.. right?)

Do it man! I love OS X to death! I was hardcore "Mac's suck!"... until I finally got one! Thanks a lot for the kind words. I'm glad the community is interested! You need other people for ideas!
I want to get a good thing going for the Mac front end. A nice, solid application. Once I get it running on my Xenarc (which I still don't have yet,.. ARGH!) and see how that works out, I'm going to release the source code, and hopefully people can bring AMP (or our ideas) into numerous other directions that we hadn't even thought of yet.
Aych!

I agree, this front-end looks great. I am so happy that you are putting so much work into it. You should be extremly proud of what you have so far. amazing, and it is coming along so quickly, and getting better every day.

yeah as long as it flows with the music i dont think many people will care. The CD cover is a nice touch, from current use on my mini at night though I think there needs to be some way to tell it that it is night time so the brighter visulatizations arent used. just an option though.
