Great Job on this Front End. I was playing with it today and is almost perfect. Do you know if there's a way to add a software based equalizer for the player? Thanks

EQ would be nice, maybe a side project until u can get some GPS stuff going, i say stop everything else to get the GPS portion of the program started/done.

Add another vote for me. I think an EQ would be good to have as well.

Another thing I'd like to bring back up is a tweak in how you select music to play. Any chance of making it work like an iPod (select a genre, or Artist or Album and it plays everything below that). I also think (and I know this has been discussed before) that you should add an Enter button and maybe just combine the play and pause button. Or have them both seperate. either way.

One other feature that would be nice for the music player would be to add a crossfader similar to the one in iTunes. That's a feature I always wished was on the iPod.

Two things that I would really like to see are Sirius and GPS

I was reading that GARMIN is making their nRoute software work on OSX. This would be an awesome app to incorporate into AMP. I have used alot of different mapping programs and this is in my opinion the best. Its versatility allows different types of users to use it, for example the program is great for turn by turn when i am in the city but also works great for tracking my path as i off road.

Here is a link of the article discussing OSX support
http://www.garmin.com/pressroom/corporate/011006.html

I dont have anything interesting to add about incorporating Sirius other than it would be AWESOME!!

Thanks for everyones hard work this App is Great!!

Raceer gifted a GPS, so if I can find some nice GPS software, I should be able to do something. I contacted the people at RouteBuddy to see what's going on, hopefully they'll have something nice to say.

Regarding Sirius and XM, and a lot of other requested hardwares, I'm all for it, but I'm not going to purchase the hardware/subscriptions to implement something I'll probably never use. Does Sirius even have hardware for the Mac?

Here is a thread on hooking up what i believe is the alpine sirius tuner to a windows based pc. At the end of the thread there seems to be someone interested in helping develop a mac version (they inserted their email). Perhaps they have some insite. If they do and you can get something going i would be willing to debug it for you or let you use my sirius alpine tuner to get that part of the program up and running.

hi

would it be possible to browse the lists with single click instead of double click?

the music browsing in amp is really dangerous in a car when driving,
i would guess to seperate the artist, album, lists view to a seperate browser screen
with a button to add/remove highlighted artist, album, song from an "on-the-fly" playlist, which contents are shown in the main music view ..

resuming play&shuffle mode when coming out of standby is also important

i found something interesting in the source...quickmenu? whats that? we need this

I think a sync plug in would work good here because you could create special playlist for AMP at home and then just sync playlist to use while you're in the car...

Just click "Play" instead of double clicking

QuickMenu is in the works :-)

First, thank you aychamo! You are doing more than just making a cool interface for us, you are demonstrating that Macs are a viable option for anyone who is considering a carputer. To make a simple, safe, easy to use interface will also show computer and auto manufacturers that we are a growing number and we want more than just am/fm/cd/gps capabilities from our cars (they never factor in abundant, free & downloadable smut!).

It’s a slow day at work today and I just started playing with AMP this weekend so I read this entire post. I don’t recommend this by the way, my eyes hurt and I feel a little dumber than I did a couple hours ago. Nothing like realizing how much you don’t know about something, in one sitting, to make you want to hit happy hour(s) a little early.

I only have a couple things for the wish list, the first has been stated a couple of times. OBDII support and aychamo, endiz says he wants to support the development with a TSV screen, maybe you can talk him into a newer car to develop OBDII for the rest of us The second wish is for a “Gesture” or “Graffiti” interface option like StreetDeck. I suspect this is asking too much but it would be nice.

Would it be possible to get some documentation? Like I said, I read the entire post and I’m still not sure if I have it all figured out and taking advantage of everything AMP has to offer.

uh oh... iTunes 7 will be released today... might have to make some changes dude Just a heads up!

10:28 am Engadget: Today we're introducing the biggest single enhancement: iTunes 7
You say "it looks the same," but it isn't
[the left nav is more cleanly organized without being radically different]
We've added a View switch, a 3-position switch. we've added a 2nd view called album view, so you can scroll through your music library and look at it by album. what if you ripped your CDs and don't have the covers? Today we're announcing free missing album cover art for all the music in your library if you have an itune acct. itunes will automatically download it for free
but there's something even better. that's the third view. it's called Cover Flow view. [LOOKS LIKE FLIPPLING THROUGH YOUR CD RACK]

10:30 am iLounge: you can now sync between multiple computers using an iPod, as long as both are authorized on the same account

The thing that annoys me about iTunes is that it doesn't import videos that are in your iPhoto library, and I think the tagging of videos as "TV Shows" is still broken (ie, if you rip your own TV shows from your DVD collection, and tag them as TV shows, if you put them on your ipod, you dont see anything..)

Other than that.. I like it as a media organizer. That's why I built AMP to use it for most of it's media organization. It'll be interesting to see what else gets put out today as Apple's conference goes on!

Edit: I honestly hope they release some hardware that I'll want to purchase. :
