Unless you've already got a data plan! My response was more in reference to someone asking Verizon's EV-DO cards.

nobody that I saw mentioned the Verizon card, Shark did inquire about Sprint and T-Mobile.
But again a data plan cost what? $40 a month? yeah, makes more sense to use a cell phone to tether, rather than pay for your cell phone AND a data plan, however, my thought is; Amp already has wardriving, and skype, for at least now, is free, so why not use the two?

what i thought was to enable this to be used is you allow arrow keys to be used (up down left right etc) this is how i use my powermate and that seems to be the obvious way
correct me if im wrong but thats what i would like !
thanks
keep up the good work!

There are two solutions for GPS. They aren't perfect, but they do work.
One is to use Roadnav, an open source, free GPS program. It has good maps for the U.S. based on US government Tiger data. Since I don't live in Spain, I haven't looked into the sources for maps there, but the program has links to all kinds of locations and there might be Spanish maps available.
You can read my review on Roadnav here
The second solution is to use Google Earth, assuming GE has maps for Spain in it. [Edit - I just checked and there are streets in GE for Barcelona. I don't know about the rural areas, but if you're in the city, both the streets and the aerial photographs are pretty good.] You can read how to implement a Google Earth solution on your Mac here.
[Edit - fixed links]

Here's my wish for AMP.
Is it possible to achieve screen dimming via software? I know that you can vary the opacity of the window. It seems to me that you could make a single window with no controls on it, no frame, no focus and keep it frontmost at all times after sunset. Allow the user to set both the color of the window (I'd pick a default of black with sometime like 80% opacity or whatever looked right) and include two options - one to autoengage when sunset occurs based on lat/long of either the GPS if it is working, or a user input location, or simply a time the user specifies. The same options would be in place for sunrise.
This window would overlay everything as long as AMP is running. That includes if you go to the desktop, run iTunes, whatever.
My screen is damn bright at night and could use some dimming. Even Amp text is bright. Adjusting the gamma makes it tolerable but I could use a lot less brightness at night.

Thanks for the tip. Using gamma control, I can get an acceptably dim screen. I couldn't make it work using the Apple display controls. It would either make the whites look weird or you had to adjust 5 controls on different screens.
Aychamo - I withdraw this request!

So I've been playing around with the wireless network stuff. I have to use a set of apple frameworks called CoreFoundation to do it. I've never messed around with that before, and I have to teach myself a lot of it..
I've already got airport to give me a list of the available wireless networks (although I cant read it, I can just tell it gives me four objects,, and i have four networks in my area.) And I can turn airport on/off.. lol..
I really just need to get it to give me the names and strenghts of signals, and then have the table automatically sort based on strength of signal, and an option to auto join the strongest signal..
What else should the war driving app do? I could see eventually neat things like you can "mark" a great signal that you are illegally stealing and have it make a waypoint or whatever in the GPS stuff..
Ohh ... have to chime in here. A wardriving app should also have the ability to run an applescript upon successfully connecting to a network. The script could wo whatever you want, but I'd have mine upload GPS tracking information and a picture of whoever is driving my car (in case it gets stolen, yo). The possibilities are endless though.
I would like to see kismac functionality built in - like capturing packets and performing attacks. But I'll probably just use linux (parallels) and a wrt54g in my trunk hacked as a kismet drone.

I've read this whole thread and a few others and haven't seen much on visualizations. It would be nice if we could choose screensavers as visualizations, or actual itunes visuals. This would open up a lot of possibilities.
Forgive me if it's already possible to do this.

Something to track gas mileage would be cool.
Log the date, gallons, cost, and mileage. You could then pull a report that would show you average MPG, last MPG, cost/mile, cost/week, miles/week, estimated miles/year.
I have fired up XCode and am attempting to write a plugin to do this myself. But I haven't touched C in probably ten years, so we'll see how it goes.

I'd say a plug in to check weather.org and yahoo traffic would be cool also!
