So, in theory, this could raise and lower a car that's on airride? How is the UI for the Phidgets? Do you make your own buttons and displays for like temperature sensors and such?

And looking a little bit down the road, while expanding on the airride concept, can you have your navigation system trigger your airride when you reach a certain GPS coordinate, like the one that is the enterence to your driveway, so it raises the car automatically? Or when you reach over a certain speed to lower it? It would be great if I didn't have to shell out the large amount of cash for the airride manufacturer's digital control system, and could integrate it better into my Mac.

phidgets are limited by your imagination, more then just sensors and relays, they have rfid, temp sensors, touch, and MORE go to the website to see ALL phidgets can do, This setup is a BASIC use of phidgets to turn on lights, but in the future the possibilites are ENDLESS!!

Your airride example is exactly the kinda stuff phidgets can do. Phidgets do require programming but that is what I am doing and it is verry easy. Relays could easily controll your electronic air valves at a specific location, phidgets could even monitor the pressure of easch individual airbag or the tank for that matter. Check out the website and start planning things out.

Heres a new version. It can controll 8 relays and the user can set the title of the buttons. I'll post a screenshot in a little bit.

I'm not able to get it to work. it just unexpectedly quits. Any ideas why? Does it need to be installed some certain way.

hmm theres no special way to install it. Did the original version work properly? The only thing I can think of is that you need the phidget kernel extention installed. You can download everything you need with the phidget21 framework download from their website.
