don't celebrate yet. This still has to be programed. Right now I'm just trying to nail down the interface and all the features. Programming this will take me a while. So I want the first version to have all the features everyone is looking for. I'm not saying I won't update it but I would like to attempt to please most people with the first version.

Also it should save automatically after you change the names of the buttons.
It is designed to continue running when you hit exit because it is a plugin that may need to be called again later. I'll make another button for quit.
Yup -- They (#1 and #4) only turn on, they don't turn off
I will play more with the interface.
The screenshots Look GREAT!!

But every other one (2,3,5,6,7,8) can turn off? Have you tested to see if one relay can both open and close a window yet?

I've tested it here using the nslog and it looks like the software functions correctly. Take a meter and test your digital outputs for 1 and 4. Also try a different relay in the port. I think it's a hardware problem.

Nope, Using The Phidgets program 'Phidget Interface Kit' all switches work correctly, in your program, 1 and 4 turn on, but don't turn off.
Another suggestion, is when you turn "on" a switch it should change color to indicate that its on, if I have fog lights, on and I use the software switch, I have no way to tell if there really on.

well this is wierd I'll be honest. I have no idea what is going wrong. Has anyone else had the same problem?
You're idea about an on/off light is a good idea and I'll try to develop something to indicate that

Updated Bug report
Ok, here is what I have found.
#1 works perfectly, BUT if you turn them on
#1, #2, #3, #4
#4 goes on and then won't go off, and #1 then won't go off.
if I reboot, then #1, #2 and #3 go on and off with no problem,
when I turn on #4 it somehow messes up #1.

you may askwhy this matters but would you mind posting up you're console log after you run the plugin. It's in your utilities folder called console.app and it should have some information about which relays are on and off.

I've been working on phidget homepage for a while now and have decided that a plugin interface is too complex for an application of this size. I have simply decided to hardcode all the features into one application. So now I want to know what you guys are looking for. I need some kind of wishlist with the features you want and the sensors you will be using. For instance you want to monitor temperature with 2 temp. sensors or want your headlights to turn on using a photocell and relay. This way I don't waste time with features that cannot be tested or implimented. Also at the moment I am working on making homepage applescriptable so it can be controlled by other "remotes" or programs. If you have any input here that would also be great. Thanks for all the help so far I think you guys will be pleased with the end result.

Phidgets Wish List
Well.. Hmm
I think a temp sensor would be great, also I have a touch sensor
but I havent really played much with either ones.
I think you should get rid of the LCD slider, Most people are using
a Touchscreen VGA and the lcd brightness doesnt do anything
Other features,
since the phidgets board has only 8 relays, and that fills the digital
output, I think your flexability gets limited.
so maybe a Multi-Phidgets controller (or at least allow for it)
Things I am interested in, But don't owe yet.
RFID Door open
Temp Sensor fan activation
Gee thats all I can think of
Jonathan

Jonathan I'm working on your problem and am completely stumped. While looking into controlling more than 1 phidget kit I found this
http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=34375
According to these guys you only need 6 relays not eight. That would be 2 per window and then 1 to set all the locks up and another to put them all down. Also it may be possible to wire all the windows in parallel off of 1 relay so it would just take 1 relay to raise all the windows and 1 to lower.

Well how about you make six switchable relays, and two 'sensor' relays?
ie; touch controls one relay and temp controls one relay?
