Amp 2.0?
I have been wondering for longer than a month what the progress is of AMP 2.0. I am willing to buy it and would love to see a working version. Did I miss something in the forums or something? Pretty much no one has talked seriously about anything AMP in who knows how long.
So basically, what is the status? Thanks.

YA I'd just like to see a bit of activity to show that amp 2.0 is still alive. Any feature updates or screenshots?

i posted a screeshot of it in one of the other threads. He is having a hard time with a few resizing issues. Its a little rough right now and some problems with the background gradients but it is moving along nicely. I cant promise anything b/c im not working on it but I think he will have a beta or something that he could release within a month but I dont think thats how he wants to do it. the animations are very nice in the new version and the I find the menu very responsive compared to mediacentral. I hate to tell this to everyone again but I know that you guys are anxious...you just need to wait. Go ahead and run AMP in your carputers and eventually Kindling will make its way into the world. It would be nice for some people to start developing more plug-ins for AMP like bcohen has.

ya Kindling is the new name that Aychamo is using *wispers*i liked AMP better*whispers*. I dont know the details on the plugins though. I am sure that Aychamo will come up with something to accomodate plug-ins that wont be hard for you to update the phidgets plugin.

I have the latest alpha build of Kindling and have been testing it out. I'm not sure how much info Bobby wants to give out at this point, but suffice it to say for now: it may be a little while before we see a public release. The software is going to totally knock your socks off, will work with plugins, and has a few other cool surprises.
Once size issues and a few other bugs are worked out, it will be probably be ready for a public release, but Bobby has taken a short break from working on it during the holidays. Stay tuned.

well it would reasonable to have 800x480 version first since the 99% Carputer installations use this resolution...
A multiple resolution version is'n a common request but anyway I think you'd like to give the project most versatile options.

in addition i think that the, "99% use 800x480" comment, is a bit unfounded considering the BULK of carpc users are windows users, and most of them use VIA boards, and that in turns means they use 800x600 (unless they have managed to hack their way to 800x480).
i'm glad to hear that he is doing carpc/htpc usage for this app.
anyway, carry on..
