I'm not entirely certain how one goes about setting that up, but it's not a bad idea....

Okay, I've put the new version of AutoTouch up on the site http:\\www.sarinarts.com\autotouch.htm you can also download the exe only from http:\\www.sarinarts.com\autotouch.exe if you already have it. The new install also include Zorro's marvelous skin. I've fixed up a few random other bugs in navigation and added a splash screen so that you know it's launching.

Quick Question

Grem

Still not had chance to test all this properly so cant tell u about the screen issue yet!

Just a quick question...does the map accutally rotate with direction? I have read so many posts about how crap mappoint is for nav etc etc but with VOICES nav it is very usable but the map doesnt rotate. So does your map rotate?

I cant test cos i havent got my carpc installed in a vehicle and dont have any recorded GPS data blah blah .....

Ps. Please tell me it does....

PPS. I just installed the new version as posted above...unistalled old and reinstalled...wheres the zorro skin i cant find it! thought it was part of package!

The map does rotate (it's an option in settings)

The Zorro skin should be there, but it looks like the version that got copied into the install has a mistake in it.

Go to the "\program files\autotouch" directory and then open the zorroskin sub-directory.
Open up skin.xml withe notepad
Move the linke which says "<name>Zorro</name>" from inside the <main> section to outside of it.
Now change the name of the directory "ZorroSkin" to "Zorro" because I screwed that up to.
And restart and go to settings to change. I apologise for that!

<Anyone who downloads it from here on out will find that it is correct!>

-Gremlin
Now save the the file and go to the settings page.

Grem,

I love this thing so far... its awesome... which is why i keep bugging you about it...

How mcuh of a pain would it be to add the dual volume for the nav vs the music ?

and on the nav screen.. where you search for place names.. can we add a search radius to that... and pick whether we want to search close to current location or close to destination...

that would make the nav super awesome.. ah and btw.. if you need any help with this coding.. or just some donations.. let me know.. i am more than willing to help

Will Map Point work with my Delorme Earthmate (usb)? I did some quick research and I think it will work, but I want to ask you guys before I run out and buy the software.

This looks awesome from what I see on your page.

Mappoint question-with whatever you did, does it have any sort of auto-reroute? Mappoint doesn't seem to do that at all when I tried it.

Yes it will work. I'm using Map Point 2004 with the Delorme Earthmate (usb) and it works fine. You have to install the COM port emulation drivers from here, http://www.delorme.com/support/gps/uemate005.asp, to get it working with the usb device.

Thank you for the compliments!

I will look into the dual volume thing. I haven't thought much about it.

Adding search from current radius is a great idea, and one I hadn't thought of. The only version of this I have installed in a vehicle at the moment is in my motorhome so that's not something I use it for, but of course it makes complete sense I will look into it.

As for using AutoTouch it should work with any NMEA compliant GPS, I've used it with a Garmin ETrex, a Delulo, and with the Pharos USB unit which seems to work really really well.

StrohJ you should take a look at the skinning stuff, and see what you think there. Zorro was very impressed with how easy it was to create his skin, and he did an awesome job with it.

Stuff

Grem

Sorted screen issue...funny but i was running my touchscreen through 2nd output on my vid card at 800x600 and the screen did that strange thing, mackled my car pc together and ran it on that and it works fine.

Sorry to bother you with that one!

Errr...regarding the new install...i have downloaded it twice now and uninstalled and reinstalled many times with reboots inbetween and the Zorro skin does not appear in the directory or anywhere else as a matter of fact could you check you uploaded the correct file?

Cheers

Chilli Pepper, I'm sorry for your trobules. Just checking my downloads, and I just downloaded and installed and the zorro skin is indeed there. Is anyone else also seeing this problem I wonder if an intermediate system is cacheing the file?

Can you check that once you download that your date is correct? Maybe the file is getting stuck in your cache because the name is the same?

What is the size of the file downloaned in the explorer mine shows 13,709KB

thanks!

Okay, can you possibly try downloading it to another machine? I'm checking on the actual web server at this point and it's showing the file size I have listed, so I've got to think something in between is cacheing the file.
