AutoTouch news... (Wishlist?)

I just recieved by Beta of the Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 environment including the .net framework 2.0 and I've ported AutoTouch over to it. I'm running some tests with it now to see how it's workin but at first blush it seems a bit faster which is good news.

I'd like to start a new thread of feature requests. I know we've had them in the other threads but I'd like them in one place so I can start knocking them down.

thanks!

if you could try the EQ controls somewhere (maybe on the music screen) to adjust Bass/Treble... etc..

port the music backend to winamp based instead of WMP

Continue being a badass as programming and making my wish i knew half your knowledge...

Okay so I got as far as installing WinAmp, and I'll look at it!

I'm still working on the port to .net 2.0, I've got a trip coming up where I can actually use the system to verify all is well. I also found an interesting bug that occurs in the navigation system occasionally that I'm looking at fixing.

Exclamation

I'm looking for a soft that has:

-music + EQ
-dvd + divx + EQ
-status-screen (mem/hdd-usage/temp etc)
-phone integration (bt AND serial)
-radio (the USB-tuner project)
-integrated navigation (preferably better than D3), for EUROPE
-calendar, mail and contacts (sync with exchange/imap/pop3)
-integration of everything (for ex: select a contact and press navigate/call/sms/email as you wish)
-supports 1 relay on the serial port to activate amp+screen(s) when booted/resumed to FULLY WORKING STATE and disactivate them BEFORE shutting down/hibernating

-all skinnable and menu-driven, so it is very touch-screen friendly

-runs smooth (and I mean SMOOOOOOOTHHHH) on an epia mII 12k with 256mb of ram, preferably as nlighted as possible
-still runs smooth when an audigy 2nx is added to the mix

OPTIONAL:
-multi-screen
-multi-zone (multi-sound+multi screen)
-relay-card support
-vehicle tracking
-DAB
-voice-recognition

I'm willing to pay... really, and I don't mean one license!

oh, and I want it all in 1 program or suite, for stability reasons

I'm creating a new thread on this one, you inspired me

Wow that's a lot.

A lot of what you want could easily be written as plug-ins to AutoTouch but I'm not sure a lot of it is what I'd like to do right now, but I will keep it all in mind. I've now got some interesting ideas to think about.

Just taken a look at beta 2, it looks very nice and seems to run pretty well.

Is there any chance that you will be integrating any mobile phone support for calls and text messaging?

Well I spoke with Zoro briefly about having him port his plug-in with my help to AutoTouch but beyond that I haven't gotten any further. It would be great if you would suggest it to him (and if anyone else who wants it does too) And maybe we can reach critical mass. I don't have the time to work on the integration for a phone, but I'm willing to help anyone who wants to write a plug -in

Hey Gremlin... small question for ya (feature req).

With my car/driving habits itd be useful to be able to set 2 skins for AutoTouch to switch between (automatically, or and easy 1touch button) I am modifying the BrushedMetal skin for a little better daytime contrast but would like to go to the original for night time use..

Any thoughts on being able to add this in? I guess it'd be similar to GammaControlv1 only for changing of the skin.

Thanks

Apolo

That's a cool idea (sorry for the delayed response, I was out of the country) let me think about the best way to implement it.

Cooler would be to hook it into the GPS data to have some knowledge of where you are and what sunset/sunrise are so that you could just do it automagically!

That would be cool too..

But if having that is gonna tax the system and make it run slower I rather just have a button that I can add to the skin so that I can push it and switch skins.... nothing frealy fancy is needed here, i just dont want to have to go to Settings, Switch skins..etc..while i'm driving

And no hurry.. I appreciate all the work you've done so far.

Have you found any new info about a possible port to Winamp vs WMP? Just curious if anyones started that..

Apolo

Actually thinking about this it should take too long to add in just a button, I'll see if I can't knock it out.

I started mucking with WinAmp but then got busy again at work.
