New to this, but wanting to introduce myself

Hello, I am new to the carputer world, but not boats and big audio system in them, now I want to meld all that together in one system

A little about the boat it is a 30 offshore boat with a cuddy, and I have scouted the cockpit and have room for 2 10" TVS in back of the bolsters seats for the passengers and room for a 6" (prefer touchscreen) in the dash to control the system. I also have a 15: flat LCD in the cabin that would also b eused down there. We currnelty have it hooked up to a DVD player to watch movies.

The stereo is a 4 amp system with 26 speakers and I have an aux in on the headunit to interface the puter with the stereo so all should be goo there.

What I am wanting is DVD for music videos and movies, and a good MP3 player, and also be able to integrate my existing GPS unit into it for the antenna and use it as moving map etc.

I have room in the cabin to install it and it will be out of the elements and I do not boat in Salt so that is not a concern, however the screen will be out in the light so ideas on what can be seen in the sun would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Christian

The sun is your enemy. Search "transreflective" and "sunlight readable". MP3Car sells a 7" sunlight readable monitor, straying from that may cause you some frustration. Welcome though
