Where's mp3car's HD Radio?

I'm just wondering when we are going to be able to read more on this.
Is the official announcement hiding somewhere?

Ya know...
As much of a novelty as terrestrial radio is for the PC, I can't see why radio of any sort is such a big deal to so many of you.

Personally, I wanted a PC in my truck so I could have music to listen to when there's nothing on the radio. In my eyes, that's afar too often, because radio generally sucks donkey balls. I wanted/needed an alternative. That alternative is my PC.

I don't care if you wrap it up in pretty digital goodness and add sublayers of information. It's still ad-driven commercial radio that plays the same mediocre programming (music or talk) over and over again until you want to claw your eyeballs out.

Sure it's good to have that option for a vehicle computer if you want to go that route. I understand that. I just don't understand the incessant need for terrestrial radio when you have so many other media options with a PC: MP3s & other music files, video files, DVDs, CDs, satellite radio, podcasts, internet radio...

I dont wanna miss Imus.
uhh, oops, I mean Corrolla in the morning.

And how else do I win my concert tickets?

Maybe if I could find a extravagant bug that I could put on the radio station's phone line that automatically senses when the required number of calls minus one has occured in rapid succession, then blocks any other calls, and then calls me and connects me(with the last 1 minute of broadcast being the ringtone, so I know what to say) ....I'd go without broadcast radio. Do you think they'd catch on?

Winning concert tix while on the road... There's a novel idea...

Actually, the way their phone systems work, they already have their fifteen callers as soon as fifteen people call the station.
They press a button to answer the first one that came in with . "You're caller one."
Then move on throughout the callers until they hit magic number fifteen (or whatever) and dole out the prizes or whatever. Put 'em in the drawing for the trip to Cancun at the end of the week.

Realistically, you'd have to hack the computerized system with new code so that it would call YOU when they initiate a contest, and put you on the line for caller number XX.
That way when they're giving out the big prize (the front-row seats to K-Fed and his Fertility Band, perhaps?), you're assured to be the right caller...

Oh, and h3rk...
Your new avatar is a wee bit disturbing...

That makes more sense, thanks for the upgrade.

Honestly with the radio/ HDradio, I just don't want my options limited (and I'm a talk radio junkie).

Disturbing? That cute little newbie birdie getting spoon fed? Was that you politely telling me to change it? I found it fitting for many posts I have dwelled in.

See, now there's a valid reason for wanting to retain radio in the car. I'm not saying there aren't reasons. There's no reason for me to keep a regular radio.

It has no feathers yet, so it's not yet "cute". It looks like it just crawled out of the egg... Hell, it probably did!

Besides, you should know how we feel about spoon-feeding here!

And no, I'm not saying you should change it. I'm just saying it disturbs me. Hell, it looks like it just puked into the spoon!
The first time I saw it, I thought someone was trying to feed it a hard-boiled egg. Now THAT was disturbing...
