iBiquity is needs to certify this product- I am not sure what kind of information they would provide regarding the certification process. Basically the radio needs to work in all kinds of environments, and if it does not work in just one, well then - you are out of luck. It has been a long process, but we hope to be nearing the end.
People have been waiting a long time - we have been dying for this product as well- so we are quick to give refunds if anyone would like one. You can just email the store with your order number. (but if you paid via credit card, then you were never charged)
There was a lot more black art in this project than anyone expected and when you have to collaborate with groups overseas, well you can imagine how that goes.
U have to certify just to get the HD rating?
If it dosent pass are you still going to release it as a "radio reciever"?
Why can you sell a "Un certified one, like a BetaHD.
Someone will stioll have to integrate this in to the front ends too.
There is no "LAW" saying you cant sell a reciever, as far as I know.
Broadcasting is another Entirely diff story (heavy restrictions)
but you can still buy/get Contraband items "FCC" wise
Like a CB Signal Booster (way illegal...lol)
and A Ham Radio without licence.
Some of us are literally dying for this item
