They have a HU that can control it instead of the RUX? Maybe I can find one of those in red. Or do I NEED the actual controller?

I just said that 7 hours ago. The reason the newer H701 is sold in 2 parts is because they came out with HU's that can control it.

Yes, those as well as the new CDA-9857 ($400msrp)
Looks like all the buttons can be made red, but not the display.
You would not need the controller with these. The brain would plug into the HU and you can access all the settings in the brain through the HU knobs.
All the Alpine gear is their new 07 line which is all new to me, but Alpine does usually have the coolest stuff and is ahead of everybody else.

Well if you happen to run across one of these new 07 models that would work for it, and in red, shoot me a messege man, lol. I'm gonna try and do research myself, but we are blocked from a buttload of sites over here. And I think that I just might grab that IPOD thingy too. Thta was just HOT.....I want it in my car, lol. Hell...I don't even own an IPOD yet....but I'll steal the wifey's for that

See above post.
All the DVA, IVA models and the CDA-9857. That's 5 models, but I don't think the Ipod looking one with the screen can control it. Info on it is not available yet.

No...from what I was reading, the IPOD one is just that...an IPOD control unit to look fancy.
So I can get the CDA-9885 and the PXA-H701, and I'm golden, with red buttons and all, right Sounds like a plan. The display looks white anyways...that'd be fine with me.

Special AI-net connector.

Do you mean audio from the PC to the HU? You can run an analog line out from the PC to the HU's aux input, but the SQ goes down. Most folks that run a PC don't run a HU and vice versa.
