Weird Problem with h701

I've had the H701 with my Alpine IVA-D310 for seven months now and no problems until recently. As of late, my IVA-D310 will turn on with all of the standard features that come with that, however my H701 controls will not always be available (ex: X-over, EQ, Dolby Digital controls).

I find it odd because my amps are wired to the H701, so it must be on, but why do my control options not always appear? I had this problem once before several months ago but I just restarted the car and it all came back. Now I've had this problem for two days with no solution. Any suggestions?

I've now had two 701 brains and a single controller.

BOTH brains have had some serious issues (this current one really messed up on us at DSN and cost us a few places due to heat). The first one will randomly cut out the rear (sub) channels.

The controller is starting to get flaky as well. Sometimes the buttons wont work...which is SWEET when you're at a show trying to tune or change settings.

I even sent one of the brains in to Alpine...only to get a note back with it stating that I needed 'customer education'....aka it worked fine, I just didn't know how to use it....WTF!?

So, what I'm getting at, is that the units aren't all that great as far as quality is concerned...which is an utter shame.
